Our purpose: putting people and the planet at the heart of tomorrow’s energy
CVE is a B Corp and mission-driven company. In every project, we seek to minimize the impact of human activities on the climate and generate a positive environmental and social impact. Our purpose: putting people and the planet at the heart of tomorrow’s energy.
“When CVE was created in 2009, we didn’t want to be just another company, but a better one. Not just another player in the energy sector, but a committed, socially responsible player that listens to companies and local authorities and takes concrete action on environmental issues.”
Hervé Lucas, Pierre de Froidefond and Arnaud Réal del Sarte, CVE associates
CVE, a natively responsible company
CVE considers that its role goes far beyond its industrial and economic project, and its commitment to the fight against global warming. Our mission has a broader environmental and social dimension. Our activity must be aligned with the preservation of biodiversity and resources, the balanced development of our territories, and the promotion of a more equitable and respectful society. We are committed to generating a positive environmental, human and social impact through our activities.
Our impact approach
CVE’s decisions are made taking into account their impact on the company, its stakeholders and society as a whole.
Our environmental objective
Producing decentralized renewable energies in a short circuit approach, with the aim of accelerating the energy transition for local communities, businesses and farmers, while minimizing CVE’s impact on the environment.
An example of an initiative deployed: we have designed a tool for calculating the carbon footprint of our photovoltaic and methanization projects across the entire value chain, the “TIC” (in French Taux d’Impact Carbone).
Our human objective
Putting people at the heart of CVE’s corporate project, in order to promote individual and collective fulfillment, encourage excellence and foster the commitment of the men and women behind it.
An example of an initiative deployed: CVE has launched an in-house training school, the CVE Academy: to develop career-long learning and training in line with team needs and the Group’s strategic objectives.
Our social objective
Imagining and building the energy models of tomorrow, in close collaboration with local stakeholders, promoting shared governance and the creation of local social value.
50% of our facilities in operation in France are located on public land, with local authorities participating in governance and capital, or enable the energy produced to be consumed directly or locally. This illustrates the local dynamic of our mission.
MoreInnovation and impact
Innovation is at the service of competitiveness and serves to anticipate tomorrow’s energy models, whether through technological innovations, our business models or the optimization of our operating sites. Innovation at CVE takes into account the social dimension of our projects, through the construction of territorial ecosystems and their impact on local populations. It is also a response to environmental challenges, with the recovery of CO₂ methanization.
“In the style of ‘frugal innovation’, we strive to do better at lower cost by gaining a better understanding of our assets and how they work. Innovation is about changing business models to make them compatible with the social and environmental issues that surround us. That’s why this department is called the Innovation and Impact Department”
